Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited, part of Whirlpool Corporation, has announced new appointments for the company.
Following James Goldsmith’s promotion to managing director of KitchenAid SDA EMEA, Whirlpool UK has appointed two sales directors, Jim McEwan and Nick Hughes. The company describes the move another ‘important step’ in the integration of Whirlpool Corporation and Indesit Company in the UK.
Jim McEwan has been promoted to multi-channel customers sales director, from his previous role of marketing category director. Jim joined Whirlpool UK in 2009 and has held the role of category director since January 2015.
Nick Hughes is to be appointed developing business sales director, joining the company on September 23. Nick will be responsible for managing and developing sales channels as well as new business opportunities. Nick joins the company from Carlsberg Breweries, where he held the role of vice-president sales for Western Europe.
Whirlpool UK managing director Maurizio Pettorino commented: “We’re very pleased to announce the new direction of our commercial team. With the promotion of Jim McEwan and the addition of Nick Hughes, I’m confident that our new commercial team will enable further growth in the premium sector and greater margin expansion through how we approach the market for us and our business partners.”
Jim McEwan (pictured right) added: “I’m excited to be appointed sales director for multi-channel. This new role will certainly be a challenge, from taking our business plan to the next level with our retailers, to delivering a best in class in-store and digital execution with a focus on an improved consumer journey.”
Nick Hughes (pictured left) said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the global domestic appliance leader in the role of sales director for developing business, and I’m looking forward to progressing such a key area for the company.”
