Following its acquisition of Indesit late last year, Whirlpool brought together its top EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region executives and 300 key European trade customers in Barcelona mid-March.
Whirlpool Corporation’s acquisition of Indesit makes the company the largest European manufacturer and marketer of home appliances, as well as reinforcing its position as the largest appliance maker globally, Whirlpool says. The company adds that the acquisition ‘significantly advances’ the company’s growth and on going value creation strategy in Europe.
The move also reportedly increases the company’s international market position, strengthening Whirlpool’s presence in countries such as Russia and Turkey, where Indesit has had a strong presence in the manufacturing sector, as well as in the United Kingdom with the Hotpoint brand.
Whirlpool EMEA president Esther Berrozpe Galindo (pictured) commented: “The Whirlpool and Indesit integration process will bring together two industry leaders with complementary strengths in innovation, technology and brand recognition. Our trade customers will realise a clear benefit from complementary market positions, product offerings and distribution channels throughout Europe. And consumers will enjoy new innovation and product choices in the marketplace. ”
