Following unprecedented demand for the new Neff, Siemens and Bosch oven ranges, BSH Home Appliances Ltd has put in place ‘significant measures’ in order to address delays in the supply chain, and has issued updated delivery date information, the company has announced.
BSH says that increased production means that a ‘significant proportion’ of trade customers waiting for 60cm single ovens and single ovens with added steam can expect to receive delivery in June, with a small remainder of orders being fulfilled in July.
The majority of existing orders for 45cm Compact Ovens with Microwave and with Steam Combination will be fulfilled by July, with a small remainder of these being delivered during August. BSH is working with trade partners to advise on orders for full cavity steam and microwave appliances.
The manufacturer adds that regular updates will now be available via the sales team and TradePlace.
To further address the situation, significant revisions have been made to the order process and instructions on this have been communicated to trade partners via their area business manager, BSH adds.
The current situation affects products in the newly launched Bosch, Neff and Siemens ovens and compact ranges only – previous models are unaffected.
BSH says that the delays have been caused by a number of factors, including the market growth of the cooking appliance market across Europe by approximately half a billion Euros last year, the 30% growth in the UK built-in oven market during the second half of 2014, with continued growth of 15% in the first quarter of 2015. BSH also noted the ‘extremely positive consumer response’ to the newly launched built-in appliances, creating unprecedented further demand.
Affected consumers will also be offered a goodwill gesture of £100 on behalf of BSH, which will be available via a prepaid Visa card. BSH will provide trade partners with instructions for their customers on how to claim.
BSH Home Appliances chief executive Andreas Meier (pictured) commented: “BSH is committed to communicating transparently with all of its valued trade partners during this time. Our primary objective is to address the concerns of those affected by fulfilling orders as swiftly as possible and providing accurate information throughout.
“I am confident that we have now reached a turning point and that the coming weeks and months will see the situation improve.”
