Hitachi’s new Ultra-Thin LCD TVs are 60% slimmer than conventional TVs, says the manufacturer.
Measuring just 35mm deep, the TVs are available in 32in, 37 or 42in screen sizes, and are also 50% lighter than conventional models, says Hitachi. The new series also boasts 360-degree styling so that they can be placed anywhere in the room.
The 32in HD Ready model is available now, while the full HD 37in panel will launch in May, followed closely by the 42in model. A 47in model is also due in the autumn.
The TVs do not include an integrated tuner, but a 250GB media box HD tuner, with three HDMI inputs and a CI slot will be released in September.
Hitachi plans to launch an even slimmer LCD screen in 2009, as well as a slim line 35mm plasma panel.
