Who are you?
Every few years, IER magazine, in partnership with BISSELL, conducts a reader survey to examine what the independent electrical retailer in Britain is really like.
The last survey was carried out three years ago. However, things have moved on significantly since then – over the last few months independent electrical retailers have had to face the harshest trading conditions in decades, and the market in 2009 is unlikely to improve greatly. That’s why we decided to revisit what’s probably the industry’s only lifestyle independent electrical retailer survey to examine the full picture of the work environment and lifestyle of the electrical independent.
The next issue of IER (March 2009) will carry the survey questionnaire, which we warmly encourage you to complete – for your benefit and that of the industry as a whole. As a thank you for the time and effort taken to complete the survey questionnaire we offer you a prize – the latest BISSELL appliance and a training session.
With your participation we will again be able to obtain a fascinating glimpse into the work and lifestyle of independent electrical retailers – this time for 2009.
For example, the survey will examine:
- How does the electrical independent view the electrical retailing business?
- How is their business performing in the current market conditions?
- What does their personal lifestyle look like?
- Which issues are of the greatest concern to them?
- What are their aspirations?
- How much do they earn?
- What car do they drive?
- What sort of home do they own?
- How do they compare with the average Briton?
Your say counts!
With trading conditions so tough, it is important to establish how electrical independents have changed since the last survey. The independent electrical retailing business is a major industry and your opinion really counts.
The survey will get to the very heart of what independents truly think about their business and lifestyles – and highlight the changes. The results of the survey will be published in IER in the near future.
