Sony announces winners of sales incentive programmes

Sony has awarded Steve Jones of Barlows, Whitchurch and Carl Cresswell of Sussex Camera Centre with the prize of a brand new Alfa Mito after they successfully completed the popular sales incentive programmes ‘Drive4Colour’ and ‘Alpha=Alfa’, designed to improve staff knowledge.

‘Drive4Colour’ launched on 5th August and ran for eight weeks; the programme was specifically created for Sony’s independent retailers. The first phase of the Alpha=Alfa scheme began on 24th June 2013 running for 13 weeks, it was also aimed at Sony’s independent retailers but in addition photo specialists.

Participants were offered the chance to win weekly spot prizes with the ultimate prize of an Alfa Romeo Mito – all through completing online training programmes and achieving sales targets.

‘Drive4Colour’ had dedicated training modules themed around Sony’s 2013 picture technology and participants were challenged to reach pre-determined sales targets. With a deeper understanding of Sony BRAVIA, entrants were challenged to use their knowledge when helping customers.

2013 was the second year of the successful ‘Alpha=Alfa’ scheme, created to educate photography retailers – participants were incentivised to learn about and sell specific Alpha, NEX and Cyber-shot cameras plus lenses.

‘Tickets’ were earned for every Sony product sold by a participating employee resulting in their names being entered into a grand prize draw to win an Alfa Romeo Mito. Participating stores entered via an online portal ‘Sony Zone’. In addition, during the incentive programme, all stores involved in Drive4Colour received ‘mystery shopper’ visits.

Chris Bowen, Country Head for Sony UK and Ireland, commented: “Both Drive4Colour and Alpha=Alfa have been some of the most successful and rewarding sales incentives programmes we have run in the UK to date. It is important for us to recognise and reward the hard work put in by our retailers.

These two key schemes provide greater training; through broadening the knowledge of our sales staff about Sony products, it enables them to confidently communicate the benefits of our innovation and technology such as 4K. It provides an opportunity not only to sell but also to inspire and guide our valued customers in making a fully informed purchase.”
