Italian appliance brand Smeg has announced the launch of its first UK trade portal, which the brand says is set to enhance the experience for its direct independent retailers.
The main aim of the new portal is to allow dealers and retailers to place Smeg product orders, 24/7, via the new website, providing a more seamless and straightforward ordering process.
The portal has been designed to improve customer experience and demonstrates Smeg’s commitment to supporting its dealer network, the brand explains. The online system makes accessing product information much quicker and easier, allowing rapid access to product details, including availability and delivery addresses. The site also allows dealers to search via product type or group.
The site has mobile and tablet viewing habits at the core of the design to reflect the increasingly significant role that online platforms have for dealers, many of which have mobile sales teams that are rarely based in one office location, Smeg says.
Dealers can log in online using their unique username and password, supplied by Smeg and are then free to search for products and place orders whenever required. Dealers will also have the luxury of an unlimited number of user accounts.
This upgrade to a fully online system is a reflection of the technological and logistical updates Smeg has planned as part of the company’s expansion.
Smeg UK managing director Mike Giddings commented: “Providing a seamless experience for our dealers is key to the Smeg philosophy and the launch of Smeg UK’s trade portal is yet another example of the way in which Smeg consistently invests in supporting its dealers.
“Smeg’s new portal is designed to give our dealers greater independence while doing all we can to support them. We recognise that our retailers need to be increasingly nimble in order to remain competitive and the new trade portal should enable them to do just that.”
