Smeg UK has announced the promotion of Simon Starkie to head of small domestic appliances (SDA).
He will be tasked with working to support Smeg’s independent electrical retailers, national accounts and department stores. Simon will also lead the growth of distribution in the specialist cook shops and housewares industries, Smeg adds.
In addition to this, Simon (pictured left) will also be instrumental in the ongoing growth of Smeg’s SDA business and heavily involved in new product development and their associative launches.
Smeg UK sales director Paul Barker commented: “We’re delighted to appoint Simon into this dedicated SDA role, to drive Smeg as an SDA brand in its own right and support new distribution channels and exciting product launches.”
Smeg UK has also announced the appointment of Mark Towns as regional sales support manager across the central region, including the Midlands and East Anglia.
Prior to his appointment at Smeg, Mark spent time at companies including Aga, Rangemaster, Indesit and GDHA.
Smeg UK national training and sales support manager Clare Edwards commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Mark on board and are confident that his passion for the industry and extensive experience ensures he’ll enjoy his role at Smeg and hit the ground running.”
