Smeg has relaunched a special edition production of its iconic design classic, the Piano Hob, designed by multi award-winning architect, Renzo Piano in 1995.
The manufacturer said the collection, comprising a choice of two hob widths, epitomises the very best of ‘Made In Italy’ industrial design. Featuring a one-of-kind architectural four or five burner hob, is constructed entirely from polished stainless steel and coated in a unique plasma technology preventing the hob from tarnishing. The unique burner pan stand has no welding, making it a true object of Italian design detailing.
This commemorative launch comes on the 10th anniversary of the Shard’s construction, and 35 years since the hob was first unveiled in Milan
Renzo Piano is an Italian architect best known for his high-tech public spaces. Some of his most famous works include the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris as well as the Shard, Europe’s tallest building, which pierces London’s historic skyline.
Piano’s design comes in two sizes. The P705ES is 71cm wide, while the P64ES is 65cm wide.
