Sirius Buying Group celebrates D.A.D. partnership success

In Industry News On

Electrical and kitchen retail buying group Sirius Buying Group is celebrating the success of its longstanding partnership with Domestic Appliance Distributors.

Back in 2009, D.A.D. chairman Adrian Gillman and his colleague at the time, Jamie Williams, went to visit the original Sirius board to discuss how they could work together to support independent retailers.

Since then, the two companies have forged a strong trading relationship with D.A.D. focused on making sure retailers have access to the best products. D.A.D. have supported every Sirius Tradeshow, the Sirius website platform to be utilised by its members, exclusive group terms and other promotional activity and are committed to driving the success of the independent retail sector and helping every member to grow within the Group.

With representation on the road nationally, every Sirius Member utilising D.A.D. has support from the team with expert product knowledge, training and advice.

With that service in mind, D.A.D. launched Montpellier in 2012 to offer retailers another choice of economically priced, stylish products with the brand’s offering having now grown to over 220 SKUs, across laundry, cooling, cooking, dishwashing and accessories.

Retailers such as BIKA in Liverpool, long-standing member of Sirius, have become a space where consumers are invited to go and experience the range of products. With a custom-built stand, personalised on-screen brand animations and comprehensive product catalogues on show, consumers are being educated as to what products are on offer, and Montpellier are driving footfall into these stores, the brand adds.

Sirius Buying Group commercial director Steve Jones commented: “The high levels of service D.A.D./Montpellier provide our members is phenomenal and their loyalty to the group has been aptly rewarded over the years with dedicated brand representation, margin opportunities and new displays from members following attendance at our annual International Conference and VIP Trade Show. In addition, it has been hugely fulfilling being part of a UK launch, that in such a relatively short period of time, Montpellier has become a key brand in the group that our Members are keen to endorse and retail.

“It is these unique and proactive business alliances that create an enviable B2C and B2B Omni-channel customer experience for our network of Sirius Approved Suppliers and Members: as well as set an industry framework to preserve and grow high quality electrical appliance manufacturing and supply.”

D.A.D. chairman Adrian Gillman said: “D.A.D are committed to helping Sirius members grow and by offering brands such as Montpellier, we can steer more footfall into member stores and help promote retailers. We are looking forward to being a prominent part of the forthcoming tradeshow and would invite members to come and talk to us about how we can help to support your business. Our commitment to the Sirius Buying Group is ongoing, and we welcome feedback on how we can support members further in challenging times. Together, we will keep the high street alive.”
