Samsung has announced the ‘first ever technology brand takeover’ of Harrods, the famous luxury department store. The partnership will see Samsung take over the majority of the retailer’s iconic window displays with a ‘high impact installation and exhibition’ as well as showcasing innovation in store at the ‘Samsung Collection’ Gallery until April 24.
Samsung UK & Ireland IT & Mobile Division marketing director Ines van Gennip said: “Samsung wants to excite people with both our products and how we communicate with them. We believe that innovative technology that’s beautifully designed can change the lives of people for the better and this partnership with Harrods aims to showcase how technology has evolved and become a key part of our lives. We realise that experience is the new form of luxury and we hope people enjoy Experience Innovation at Harrods and look forward to seeing customers in store.”
Harrods Home and Technology director Annalise Fard added: “We’re delighted to be working with Samsung for the April ‘Experience Innovation’ takeover. At the forefront of luxury retail, Harrods is the ultimate launch-pad for cutting-edge new and exclusive products and services, delivering the most innovative and luxurious products from around the world to our discerning customer base. Our partnership with Samsung will give our customers the opportunity to experience first-hand the world of Samsung and some of the brand’s market-leading technologies.”
The installation took place during the Easter bank holiday weekend and the brand takeover will be complemented by an exhibition in a gallery space on the Second Floor of Harrods. This will demonstrate innovation in technology and the changes that have been made during the past 25 years, showcasing a range of Samsung products, the Korean manufacturer explains.
