Samsung Electronics has unveiled new details surrounding its premium line-up of QLED TVs and The Frame at a global TV launch event in Paris.
Samsung Electronics visual display business president HS Kim commented: “At Samsung, we strive to provide our customers with the most advanced technology to deliver unrivalled viewing experiences and cutting-edge designs that complement their everyday lives. With state-of-the-art style, smart features and picture quality, our 2017 line-up is truly ushering in a new era for television.”
Samsung selected Paris, ‘the City of Lights’, to unveil the ‘TV of Light’, a name given to the QLED TV for its delivery of optimal brightness levels, Samsung says. The venue choice for the event at the Carrousel du Louvre also highlighted Samsung’s focus on the Lifestyle TV concept, represented by two ‘works of art’, the Samsung QLED TV and The Frame.
The latest QLED TVs have been designed with the consumer in mind, Samsung says, and focus on addressing three key consumer pain points through the solutions known as Q Picture, Q Style and Q Smart.
Samsung has also worked with Swiss designer Yves Behar to create a new TV concept – The Frame – designed to blend seamlessly into the interior of any home by displaying a work of art in its ‘picture frame’ design when not in use, rather than fading to black like a conventional TV.
The QLED TV series – which includes the Q9F, Q8C, Q7C and Q7F – will be available to purchase in the UK from March 29 and pre-orders will start on March 15.
Samsung adds that the QLED TV range will have RRPs from £1,999.99 for the Q7F, Q7C from £2,199.99, Q8C from £2,999.99 and Q9F from £4,899.99. The range will be available from selected retailers and Samsung.com.
