Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of the Powerbot VR9000, an automated floor cleaning device.
Samsung UK& Ireland VP of consumer electronics Robert King said: “The Powerbot VR9000 is a great example of our relentless passion for innovation and we are excited to be evolving our premium floorcare range further at this year’s IFA. At Samsung, we want to develop appliances that people would be proud to have in their homes and the Powerbot VR9000 does just that, bringing together our market-leading technology with a sleek design.”
The Powerbot VR9000 uses Samsung’s digital inverter technology to provide suction ‘which is up to 60 times greater than conventional cleaners’ and features an enlarged brush, and CycloneForce technology, designed to reduce the risk of clogged filters. It also features an upgraded scanning system, including a suite of sensors that ‘minimise the blind spots’. Enlarged wheels, up to 105mm diameter, and raised body, up to 15mm, both mean it can overcome hurdles such as wires or door frames, Samsung says.
A further feature of the Powerbot VR9000 is the ‘Point Cleaning’ function. When a consumer beams down on a certain spot with the Powerbot VR9000’s remote control, the cleaner will follow the light and clean the area that is being pointed at. Preventing the need to move the Powerbot VR9000 manually while it is in motion.
Adding to the Powerbot VR9000, Samsung has expanded its vacuum cleaner line with the Motion Sync Cordless VC8100, and the Motion Sync Compact VC7000. All new models are being showcased at IFA 2014 from September 5-10, and UK availability and pricing are still to be announced.
