Despite a continued challenging economic environment, 2011 has been a year of innovations for Pure and we continue to look forward with a positive view. We’ve brought to market what we believe to be game-changing products and services that have inspired our retail partners and their customers alike, and helped to drive our mutual businesses forward.
Most recently we’ve refreshed the ever popular ONE family adding the highly demanded ‘Listen Later’ record feature and expanded our docking product range with the compact and stylish Contour 100Di. October was particularly busy with two launches in quick succession as we showcased Pure Music – our cloud-based on-demand music service that gives you instant access to millions of music tracks – and two weeks later the revolutionary new high-performance in-car digital radio adapter: Highway 300Di. Busy times!
And it doesn’t stop there. 2012 is going to be a big year for digital radio and particularly in-car digital radio thanks to the year’s major sporting events and new content such as the BBC’s temporary station, Radio 5 Live Olympics Extra as well as consistent promotion across BBC and commercial stations. As the road to digital radio switchover builds momentum, analogue only radios are no longer future proof and we strongly recommend that retailers look to advise their customers to purchase either a combined digital and FM radio or an internet-connected digital radio with FM. Here at Pure there will be a continued focus on providing streaming audio and products that combine the ability to stream music and internet radio as well as receive broadcast digital and FM radio, to meet this demand.
In an ever more competitive market, the ability to demonstrate products is critical and as products become increasingly connected such as Smart TVs and internet radios, it is becoming even more important to have a decent WiFi connection in store. In 2012 Pure will be working closely with retail partners to help them provide a more fulfilling experience of digital and internet radio in store.
2012 will also see us turning 10! Not so long ago we were breaking a new market with the launch of EVOKE-1 in June 2002 and 2012 will be just as exciting for us. As part of our anniversary celebrations, you will see the new face of Pure as we roll out our new branding. Embracing a design style that is representative of who we are and what we do, life is certainly going to be a lot more colourful in 2012. We hope you like it as much as we do!
