PURE’s Twilight brightens the bedtime

In Industry News On

At the outset of Christmas season and at the time when many people suffer from insufficient amount of natural light, PURE launched Twilight – a combined dawn simulator lamp and digital radio.

Offering mood lighting, built-in natural sounds and lullabies as well as a reading light and four independent alarms, Twilight helps its users to get a good night’s sleep and easies them out of bed revitalised and refreshed.

Twilight comes with four alarm settings, giving the user the choice of waking to digital radio, FM, or special alarm tones including ‘church bell’ and ‘cockerel’; or natural sounds such as ‘wind chimes’ and ‘dawn chorus’. All alarm sounds can be accompanied by dawn simulation which allows the user to wake up naturally from light on a timer that increases gradually to mimic the rising sun before the user’s chosen alarm is activated.

Babies and young children can drift off to sleep listening to lullabies such as ‘Twinkle, twinkle, little star’ or ‘Rock-a-bye baby, and a nightlight can be set to any colour or brightness. Adults can use Twilight as a reading light or relax with its combination of mood lighting and natural sounds, such as bird songs or wind chimes, or a favourite radio station.

Twilight’s glass dome is touch-sensitive and acts as an on/off switch for the lamp. Twilight also includes PowerPort, for USB accessories such as mobile phone chargers.

Colin Crawford, PURE’s director of marketing, commented to IER on the thinking behind Twilight: “We wanted to develop an ultimate bedside radio, which would most beautifully put users to sleep and most beautifully wake them up. Twilight is an ideal radio for people who want to relax into sleep and wake up refreshed with light and sounds of dawn. It is designed to meet the needs of almost everyone; from babies whom lullabies put to sleep to people for whom getting up is a real struggle.”
