Pure chief executive steps down

Pure International Limited has announced that, by mutual agreement, Paul Smith, has stepped down as CEO with immediate effect. Rob Haycock, currently CCO, will now take on the running of the business.

Appointed in 2006, Paul has been pivotal in growing the Pure business and turning it into one of the world’s leading digital radio brands while also spearheading the digital radio agenda in the UK and beyond.

Pure International Limited chairman Sir Hossein Yassaie commented: “I would like to thank Paul for all his many years of commitment and support to Pure. He has been instrumental in leading the company through many successes of the brand and I wish him the best for the future.

“I would also like to take the opportunity to welcome Rob to his new role as CEO. It will be a pleasure to work together with Rob and the board of directors, in taking Pure into the next phase of development.”

Rob Haycock brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge having previously been CEO at one of the UK’s largest consumer electronics distributors, Kondor. Prior to that he amassed nearly 17 years of experience in the financial sector with KPMG.
