Helping parents teach their children to develop an effective oral hygiene early in life, Philips has launched Sonicare for Kids – the first Sonicare power toothbrush for children.
Sonicare For Kids is designed for children aged four to ten. It has an innovative ‘KidTimer’ function which helps children reach the recommended two-minute brushing time by progressively increasing the brushing time from one minute to two over 90 days without noticing they are spending longer brushing. It features fun musical tones to indicate when it’s time to move to another section of the mouth to help encourage a full-mouth clean.
It has two power modes (low mode for 4 years plus and high mode for 7 years plus, which are 60% and 40% less powerful than adult Sonicare toothbrushes. Sonicare For Kids is clinically proven to remove up to 75 percent more plaque in hard-to-reach areas than a children’s manual toothbrush, says the manufacturer. “In developing Philips Sonicare For Kids, we combined our patented sonic technology with kid-friendly features to create a toothbrush that delivers maximum effectiveness for children at every age,” said Vivienne Palmer, marketing manager, Philips Sonicare
Philips Sonicare For Kids is available from July. Pack includes one handle and two brush heads. Replacement brush heads are around £16 for two. The product, which has good gifting potential, may attract an entirely new category of a consumer – along with their guardians.
