After 27 years with Sony Europe, Steve Dowdle, managing director of Sony UK and passionate champion of the industry’s interests, such as retail credit, has decided to take early retirement to pursue family business interests. Steve has made an outstanding contribution to the Sony organisation and the electronics industry. He will be missed not only by the employees of Sony UK but also by the many dealers he has worked with over the years, as well as his colleagues in Europe and Japan.

Steve’s flair, energy and passion coupled with his affable personality, are a matter of record and have been consistently demonstrated over his many years with Sony.

Steve will continue to lead the Sony UK Governance Committee until the end of March 2011 and also spend this time supporting his successor.

Mohit Parasher will take over as MD of Sony’s UK and Ireland Sales Company with effect from January 2011. Mohit brings a world of experience into this role, having led Consumer Marketing Europe since September 2009 where he was responsible for Sony’s Pan-European marketing strategy. Prior to this Mohit was very successful transforming Sony’s performance in India, Dubai and most recently Poland.
