With 20% of the UK population affected by hayfever and 10% suffering from asthma, keeping the level of dust (and dustmites) to a minimum is a high priority for many customers. At the same time the popularity of bagless cleaners continues to grow since they offer such tangible benefits as saving money on bags and the convenience of never running out of them.
However, their main disadvantage is the unpleasant job of emptying the dust container which is a chore for everyone and an additional health risk for allergy sufferers. Addressing both of these issues, last year LG introduced the Compressor – a bagless cyclone vacuum cleaner – which has just been improved and replaced by the Compressor Plus.
The unique feature of the cleaner is Dust Compression Technology which compresses the dust collected into dust cubes which gives the cleaner extra capacity which means that the consumers do not need to empty it as often as they need to empty standard bagless vacuum cleaners.
The compressed dust cubes also prevent dust escaping back into the home environment when the vacuum is emptied. Accredited with the British Allergy Foundation seal of approval, the Compressor Plus also features a new 10-stage filtration system which includes a carbon-HEPA exhaust filter. This screens allergens, odours and micro-dust like cigarette smoke, and makes the cleaner particularly suitable for homes with pets and for family members that suffer from allergies or respiratory conditions like asthma.
A new Turbo Cyclone System gathers the dust collected into a single chamber before filtering which means there is less clogging and therefore better suction. The Compressor Plus is equipped with a 2000W motor and a 9 metre cord.
The Compressor Plus has two variants – the basic model comes in light grey and blue and the all-in-one version (including turbo brushes) designed in light grey and red. LG is launching an upright Compressor in January 2009.
