Consumer electronics and domestic appliances tradeshow IFA has announced that LG Display CEO and president Sang-Beom Han will deliver the opening keynote at IFA 2015 on September 4 in Berlin. Dr Han’s speech is set to share his vision for ‘How display technologies will change our lives’.
Sang-Beom (pictured) will ask what comes ‘next’ after current displays such as 4K and curved screens. His keynote will grant trade visitors and media insights into the future of display technologies and product specifications such as paper-thin and transparent displays, as well as ever-more colourful, ever-more flexible screens, IFA says.
IFA executive director Jens Heithecker commented: “LG Display’s opening keynote at IFA 2015 focuses on a technology that is key to consumer and business users – the display. This is a moment to look forward as a global pioneer and technology leader envisions the future. We are thrilled to get IFA started together with Sang-Beom Han.”
Dr Han has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor and display sectors. As head of the TV unit in 2010, he achieved a major accomplishment with the successful launch of FPR (Film Type Patterned Retarder) 3D technology, which gained a stronghold on the global TV LCD panel market, IFA says. Dr Han has been also recognized as a global pioneer in commercializing OLED display technology.
IFA adds that LG Display is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of TFT-LCD panels (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Displays), OLEDs and flexible displays.
IFA will take place at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds (Expo Center City) from September 4 to 9 2015.
