LG Electronics today announced that popular music service Spotify will soon be available on LG Smart TV in the UK. The new app provides users with access to a collection of over 20 million songs and is compatible with all 2013 model LG Smart TVs.
“Spotify is a welcome addition to the growing selection of premium content accessible on our user-friendly Smart TVs,” said Richard Choi, senior vice president of the Smart Business Centre at LG Electronics. “The app brings a vast catalogue of music from practically every genre imaginable into the living rooms of our valued customers. Through partnering with outstanding service providers such as Spotify, we will ensure that LG Smart TV continues to deliver an incomparable entertainment experience.”
Users of the Spotify app can browse Spotify’s extensive song library at their own leisure via an LG Smart TV. The app also makes it easy to share favourite tunes and playlists with friends and family via Facebook and Twitter. Those signing up to Spotify’s service for the first time can enjoy a one-month trial, completely free of charge.
Spotify will be available on LG Smart TV from mid-December, launching in more than 30 markets including the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Nordics, Benelux, and Mexico.
