Conservative proposals to ban below-cost selling, bringing the UK in line with other European countries, has been warmly welcomed by retra. The Quality of Life Policy Group’s report Blueprint for a Green Economy made the recommendation as part of plans to curb supermarket dominance and support market diversity.
Figures from DRDB (Digital Radio Development Bureau) show that household penetration of DAB in the UK will be 21% by the end of 2007, and is predicted to reach 58% by 2011.

The British Retail Consortium is recommending its new Global Standard for Consumer Products, available for the first time in Chinese, to improve manufacturing standards in China. This comes in response to the Commercial Office’s of the Chinese Embassy concerns about recent negative publicity for the ‘Made in China’ label.

Almost half (49%) of small businesses said that any simplified Government business support scheme must be targeted more at them and less at big businesses, according to a survey conducted by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). Half of the survey respondents said they would prefer to have an independently tailored service geared towards the small business sector.
