Conservative proposals to ban below-cost selling, bringing the UK in line with other European countries, has been warmly welcomed by retra. The Quality of Life Policy Group’s report Blueprint for a Green Economy made the recommendation as part of plans to curb supermarket dominance and support market diversity.

Almost half (49%) of small businesses said that any simplified Government business support scheme must be targeted more at them and less at big businesses, according to a survey conducted by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). Half of the survey respondents said they would prefer to have an independently tailored service geared towards the small business sector.
