Ofcom figures show that Freeview cumulative sales since the launch of Freeview in October 2002 now stand at 27 million, 10.2 million of which were sold in 2007 alone. With 86.7% of homes in the UK now receiving digital TV, Freeview remains the No.1 choice for the main TV set.

In its latest quarterly economic forecast, the CBI has downgraded its 2008 outlook for UK growth (2008 rate of GDP growth) by 0.2% to 1.8%. The forecast for next year has also been downgraded and the CBI’s figure of 1.7% GDP growth for 2009 contrasts with the Chancellor’s more optimistic forecast in the recent Budget of between 2.25% to 2.75%.
London Aware Weekend, 10 – 11th May ‘08, organised by UK Aware, a social enterprise founded by fire fighter Danny Carnegie, is an initiative dedicated to buying environmentally sustainable products and services. It is expected that approximately £4.5 million will be spent on environmentally sustainable products by one in four Londoners over the May weekend.
