The Bank of England admitted that it is set to breach its inflation target in the coming months and warn that Britain is destined for two years of soaring costs and weak growth. Also the Consumer Price Index (CPI) will rise above 3% over the next six months.
Nearly half a million DAB radios were sold in quarter one of 2008 delivering sales growth of 28% year-on-year, a significant improvement on the  growth rate of 16% in 2007, according to GfK. Cumulative sales of DAB radio sets at the end of March stood at 6.94 million.
DSG will reduce its dividend and announce plans to close dozens of stores in the first phase of its new turnaround plan. Up to 200 of the chain’s 700 stores could go, while dozens more will be converted to accommodate both the Currys and PC World brands under one roof.
Pier Insurance Managed Services has launched an extensive range of low cost flexible monthly extended warranty policies called Home Cover. They are designed to cover any home appliance or product, giving retailers the chance to make an additional 32% commission on every sale.
