IFA organisers commented: “For science, politics and the industry, amassing and exploiting a large volume of data is top of the agenda. What does the term ‘Big Data’ really mean? What are the costs involved in archiving an enormous amount of data? How will Big Data impact on society and business life?
“With ‘Big Data’ there is the inherent risk of information being misused and manipulated. How can one safeguard against data misuse? In the future, will we be able to benefit from Big Data without giving up our control of that data, of information about us and our digital activities? Those are the topics this session will be addressing.”
