Hughes Trade has appointed Steve Hunter to the new position of commercial services manager.
Previously a senior engineer with the company, he will now be responsible for training, method development and compliance for service matters at Hughes’ three commercial branches in Leicester, Norwich and Rochester, the company adds.
“My responsibilities also include making sure our 12 engineers receive the highest levels of training so we are constantly improving the levels of service we give customers.”
Hughes Trade’s commercial arm mainly serves the care, hospitality, tourism and educational sectors by supplying, installing and servicing a range of specialist washing machines and dryers together with glass and dish washers from the Miele Professional and Hobart ranges. It additionally supplies other commercial products including refrigeration equipment and vacuum cleaners from German manufacturer Sebo.
Steve, who has previously worked for Electrolux, Hotpoint and Miele Professional, added: “I will also be looking at opportunities to grow the business. This is particularly on the rental side because it offers so many advantages such as managing cash flow and taking the worry out of anything going wrong, while for businesses it is 100% tax deductible.”
