Hughes Electrical has invested over £50,000 to create a state of the art demonstration kitchen at its store on Hall Road, Norwich.
It has taken three months to complete and now features over 100 individual items of equipment – from induction hobs and built in microwaves to wine coolers, from manufacturers including Neff, Miele and Liebherr.
Regional manager Mark Ferdani commented: “This is a first for Hughes. The ‘built in’ market is growing rapidly, while the kitchen is becoming an increasingly important part of the modern home. However, we realised people really don’t know what their new appliances will actually be like until they have them installed.
“Therefore, we took the decision to invest in the demonstration kitchen area so customers can come and see for themselves how appliances operate before making a decision on what best suits their needs.
“We are also planning to bring in top local chefs to give a series of cooking demonstrations for our customers.”
The new demonstration kitchen was put through its paces by Norfolk’s award-winning chef Andy Snowling from the Recruiting Sergeant in Coltishall, and proprietor of Little Norfolk Kitchen, who cooked three dishes featuring skate, steak and monkfish.
He added: “It’s a really lovely area with all the very latest appliances and gadgets which is just what chefs and cooks of all abilities want.”
