Hughes Electrical ‘to the rescue’

In Industry News On

Hughes Electrical has come to the rescue of people who are more used to doing the rescuing themselves – as the company has donated a TV and stand to the RNLI Station at Clacton.

Clacton RNLI (3)

Hughes Electrical Clacton store manager Chris Shelton said: “We have supported the RNLI in Clacton for about ten years and I recently heard their TV was broken, and they also needed a new vacuum cleaner. Rather than let the RNLI use its own funds, which they could find better things to do with, we decided it would make much more sense for us to donate the goods to them given the outstanding job they, and all lifeboat crews, do.”

Lifeboat operations manager Dave Wells added: “Here at Clacton RNLI Lifeboat Station we have many visitors from schools and other groups from all over East Anglia, and we inform them of the dangers of the sea and what the RNLI does. We will be able to use the new TV kindly donated by Hughes to show educational videos and real life footage of some of the rescues we have carried out in Clacton. It will certainly be put to very good use.”
