Hughes Electrical has donated equipment to help make life a little more comfortable for the crews of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
The charity put out an appeal on social media for assistance in equipping its newly refurbished rest room and kitchen at its Norwich Airport base.
It was picked up by Hughes who responded immediately by offering a large Hotpoint fridge freezer and dishwasher.
“Our crews are on long 12 hour shifts and previously had little more than a microwave and sink,” said Richard Hindson, from EAAA. “Thankfully we were able to refurbish a room and turn it into a comfortable rest area with a fully equipped kitchen and we are very grateful to Hughes for its support.”
EAAA is celebrating its 15th year of operation and has a helicopter based at Norwich with a crew of three, a pilot, specialist pre hospital doctor and critical-care paramedic, which will typically be called on two or three times a day.
Hughes Electrical’s Carl Dickerson commented: “The East Anglian Air Ambulance does a fabulous job and has over the years saved countless lives thanks to the dedication and professionalism of its crews. So we are delighted to have the opportunity to play a part in supporting those crews while they are waiting for their next emergency call.
“We would also like to thank our major supplier Whirlpool UK for its support in enabling us to make this donation of Hotpoint appliances.”
