Hughes Electrical has promoted Ashley Shorey-Mills to the position of area manager covering Suffolk and Essex. He was previously branch manager at the company’s store on Ransomes Industrial Park in Ipswich and ran the Hughes ‘Smart Home’ service.

Ashley has been at Hughes man and boy having originally undertaken work experience while still at school in his native Colchester before joining full time on leaving 15 years ago.

“I am really looking forward to my new role getting out and about in the branches and working with my colleagues to help them further improve their customer service and drive the business forward,” said Mr Shorey-Mills. “It is also a perfect opportunity to meet customers and hear what they have to say.”

He will continue to run Hughes ‘Smart Home Service’ which has proven to be highly popular with customers who are confused about what home technology works best for them.  One of three trained and specialist members of staff will visit the customer’s home to provide a highly personal and bespoke service to determine what they are looking to achieve, what their existing equipment can do before suggesting the right products tailored to their individual needs.

Over the last year, over 500 customers have enjoyed the benefit of this service which Ashley was integral in establishing.
