Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA) and Britannia Living have announced the launch of a unified range cooking division to be headed by Britannia managing director Chris Honer.
GDHA acquired the Britannia Living business in 2013 and has successfully returned the brand to profitability, GDHA says. With a significant share of the range cooking sector, the integrated division, to be known as Glen Dimplex Home Appliances: Range Cooking, will provide customers with a single point of contact and access to an expanded product range encompassing the Stoves, Belling, New World and Britannia brands. The new division will also retain the exclusive UK distribution rights to Bertazzoni and designer cooker hood brand Best.
Chris Honer (pictured left) will lead the new division. Chris has been with Britannia Living for three years, joining the business as sales and marketing director, before being named managing director in 2013.
The newly created division will operate out of the existing sites in Stoke and Prescot but retail customers will be able to order across all brands via a single sales team and all products will be supported by GDHA’s UK based customer service operation. No changes will be made to the manufacture of Britannia’s products.
GDHA managing director Jonathan Casley (pictured right) said: “We’re very proud to have a great brand like Britannia as part of the GDHA family and, over the last two years, we’ve worked hard with the Britannia team to stabilise the business. That process is now complete, Britannia is healthier than ever and our next priority was to simplify our structure, making it easier for our retailers to do business with us. We are extremely ambitious and believe this new division will allow us to significantly grow our share of the range cooking market. Its creation will help us to better align our capabilities, deliver superior products, an improved service to customers and, under Chris’s expert guidance, drive growth.”
