The newest addition to the Fisher & Paykel appliance range is the brand’s first induction hob with integrated ventilation. Integrated ventilation uses downdraft extraction, with unobtrusive noise for a social kitchen space.

Alex van Vliet, market product manager at Fisher & Paykel, said: “Over the last few years, we have seen a shift towards open-plan and multi-use designs. Customers are looking for flexibility in their spaces now more than ever.

“With the kitchen becoming the social hub of the house, as a place for work, learning, family meals and entertaining, it is imperative that the space not only works functionally but on an aesthetic level, with clean lines and hidden appliances. Because of this, we have introduced our brand new induction hob with integrated ventilation and we see venting hobs becoming much more popular over the next two to three years.

Designed to fit
Fisher & Paykel is known for seamless kitchen integration, and this appliance is no different. With no visually obtrusive overhead range top required, homeowners can choose to place this hob virtually anywhere, including in a kitchen island, and still enjoy the view through their kitchen, dining room and open living space.

Installing a hob in an island may seem unusual but it allows for and encourages interaction between those cooking and their family or guests, making the kitchen a more sociable space.

Designed for ease of use
The cooktop’s seamless single surface delivers unparalleled ease of cleaning, and its straightforward grease filter makes cleaning any spills painless. Simply extract the grease filter, which is dishwasher safe, then proceed to clean the interior. A special internal valve then allows the discharge of any spilled liquid.

The surface around the cooking areas doesn’t heat up, which prevents baked on spills and makes the cooktop quick and easy to clean. The convenient, independent zone timer for every cooking vessel ensures food will never overcook or burn. Intuitive touch controls react immediately so you can go from a boil to a simmer in seconds.

Designed for perfect results
SmartZones allow users to link two cooking zones, providing the flexibility to use large cookware. PowerBoost and GentleHeat deliver very high to very low heats that are consistent across different burners.

Designed for sustainability
The cooktop is built from recyclable, eco-friendly Schott ceramic glass that doesn’t use arsenic or heavy metals in the manufacturing process. The recirculation kit filters the air through carbon filters and the air is then recirculated to the kitchen interior. This means heated or air-conditioned air is not ducted to outside and removed from the home.
