Electrical Industries Charity signing up teams for Dragon Boat Race

In Industry News On

The Electrical Industries Charity’s first ever Dragon Boat Race is starting to take shape as teams continue to sign up, including the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) and City Electrical Factors (CEF).

As part of their participation in the race, both the ECA and CEF have committed hundreds of pounds towards the Electrical Industries Charity, which will be used to support the neediest within the industry.

In addition, the ECA is seeking to raise further funds for the Electrical Industries Charity through a fundraising drive, and donations can be made by visiting: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Electrical-Contractor-s-Association.

Electrical Industries CharityECA group head of human resources Phil Surlis commented: “The ECA is delighted to be part of this exciting Dragon Boat Race in order to show our support for the Electrical Industries Charity. We urge family, colleagues, and friends to support the charity by making a donation or by attending on the day to watch our team seek to tame the dragon.”

CEF managing director Charlie Beddows added: “This is such a great event which will bring everyone closer together to support our industry’s charity. We are excited to take on this challenge and are looking forward to being part of the charity’s first Dragon Boat event.”

The Dragon Boat 2016 is taking place on Saturday August 6 at Peterborough Rowing Lake. This fun family event includes a range of food stalls, a picnic area, and activities for children, such as funfair rides and face painting.

No previous experience is required to participate in the race, just an enthusiastic team of 11 who are dressed to impress in fancy dress outfits. To sign up to the challenge now or for further information, please contact Vicky Gray at vicky.gray@electricalcharity.org.
