Domestic & General opens refurbished call centre facility

In Industry News On

Appliance care specialist Domestic & General has opened a refurbished and renovated call centre facility in the centre of Nottingham, with the Lord Mayor of Nottingham Councillor Michael Edwards in attendance at the ceremony.

The modernised centre, located on Talbot Street and catering for over 700 colleagues for D&G in Nottingham, will ‘significantly contribute to the improvement and transformation of the company’s customer service capabilities’ as the group undertakes a large scale renewal programme, D&G explains.

The company adds that the new facilities together with better training, technology and products will increase the speed and effectiveness of Domestic & General’s customer response, reducing the average waiting time and providing a higher level of customer service.

Domestic & General cares for over 22 million appliances, providing support to 16 million people worldwide. It is the extended warranty partner for many leading manufacturers and retailers including Sky, AO.com, Bosch, Beko, Argos, Samsung, LG and Whirlpool. Domestic & General’s network of over 8,500 engineers attends two million appliance breakdowns every year, an average of 5,340 repairs every day.

Domestic & General chief executive Ian Mason said: “We are delighted to renew our commitment to Nottingham with the opening of our new call centre facility. Customer service is at the heart of our business and this facility will significantly increase our capacity and capabilities. We take great pride in being one of the largest employers in Nottingham and look forward to growing our colleague base from across the local area.”

Lord Mayor of Nottingham Councillor Michael Edwards added: “It was a great privilege to open Domestic & General’s new facility in the heart of Nottingham. As a company with nationwide operations they have clearly recognised the strength that having a substantial presence in Nottingham can provide. The reaffirmation of the City’s ties with Domestic & General points to the fact that our City is open for business.”
