Clarity, the UK hi-fi industry’s trade association, is presenting its ‘Best of Show’ awards at the National Audio Show on September 20-21.
The National Audio Show, held at Whittlebury Hall near Silverstone, is an event packed full of audio products for the public to see and experience. Clarity says that the exhibitors put a lot of time and hard work into making their rooms sound and look as good as they can and, with the ‘Best of Show’ awards, the results will be publicly recognised and rewarded.
During the first day of the show a team of judges will be visiting each room to experience the sounds and sights presented by the exhibitors. Each will be scored on its appearance, sound quality and general ambience, in order to come up with a shortlist of potential winning rooms. And this year, for the first time, exhibitors will also be judged on their pre-show marketing activity. Each exhibiting company will be invited to submit an awards entry, highlighting the activity they have undertaken to publicise their appearance at the show.
The winners will be decided by a pooling of votes from all the judges and then announced at 7pm on the Saturday evening, just before live music from special guest Steve Hogarth, singer with the band Marillion.
Awards will be presented for ‘Best Demonstration’ (sound quality and demonstration skills), ‘Best Presented Room’ (highest standard of design and presentation), ‘Most Innovative Room’ (the room with new ideas or products), ‘Best Stand in Open Areas’ (highest standard of design and presentation), ‘Best Show Marketing’ (the pre-show best marketing) and ‘Best of Show’ (the overall winner).
