Amica UK and Ireland country manager Simon Freear is confident about the freestanding and built-in appliance market following the company’s success at the recent Euronics Showcase.
He commented: “It’s wonderful to talk to so many appliance retailers that are so optimistic about the future. Finally, we are seeing retailers, previously only committed to the major older brands, actually hunting out alternative brands. Brands with products they can shape their future businesses around.”
More than 400 specialist appliance retailers visited the ‘hot, cold, wet’ themed 80 sq m Amica stand at the show, the company says. Amica ‘dramatically increased’ its investment at this year’s showcase to CIH Euronics’ independent electrical retailers, launched a new line up of double cavity cooking alongside a revamped built-in collection which includes gas-on-glass hobs, flexizone induction hobs, new built-in compacts and soft close LCD-controlled ovens.
Simon added: “The CIH Showcase was the first chance we had to show off a good proportion of our new range of products for the built-in retail market; we’ve plugged some gaps we had in the range and received some terrific feedback. CIH retailers are embracing the opportunities for built-in and Amica gives them a protected brand and the reassurance of a two year guarantee.”
