Caple’s brand ambassador recreates 200-year-old curry recipe for the BBC

In Industry News On

The BBC recently joined forces with appliance specialist Caple’s brand ambassador Josh Eggleton to ask him to recreate a recipe for chicken curry from a historic cookbook dating back some 200 years. Monks at Grade I listed Downside Abbey in Radstock discovered the historic Bristol Georgian Cookbook in their library.

Recipes inside the historic cookbook are as diverse as calves head turtle fashion and fricassee of pig’s feet and ears, however chef Josh Eggleton was asked to conjure up a chicken curry which is televised on the BBC website. He explains: “It was a very simple recipe, which was filled with flavour. You can find out exactly how I cooked this 200-year-old curry by watching my short film on the BBC news website.”
