Sony’s new generation of Blu-ray players feature BD Live capability for enhanced movie watching.
The top-of-the-range BDP-S550 has BD-Live and BD-Java firmware built in so that users can access interactive Blu-ray bonus material online. The deck also boasts 1GB of exchangeable USB storage to save downloaded content from the web.
Along with 1080p/24p support, the player also supports DTS-HD Master Audio Decoder and 7.1Ch analogue audio input.
Also available is the slim line BDP-S350 is BD Live ready which means that the latest firmware update can be downloaded when it is available (by October, according to Sony).
