Belling Cookcentre celebrating 21st birthday with retail event competition

In Industry News On

Domestic appliance manufacturer Belling is launching an independent retailer competition to mark the coming of age of the Belling Cookcentre, as parent company Glen Dimplex Home Appliances records its highest market share in more than six years.

Originally launched as the Cookcenter in 1997 and acknowledged as one of the forerunners of today’s domestic range cooker market, the modern day Cookcentre remains one of the most popular range cookers in the UK, having received a major revamp two years ago.

The 21st birthday celebrations come on the back of significant investment in range product development and manufacturing processes, which saw GDHA secure its highest share of the range cooker market in more than six years in July.

To mark the 21st birthday of the Cookcentre, Belling is offering independent retailers the chance to win a Birthday Party in their store – worth more than £1250 – alongside exclusive offers for customers.

The winning retailer will receive everything they need to host a party – from balloons and drinks reception to a celebratory cake and birthday cards – plus a host of prizes to give away to customers, exclusive discounts and offers for anyone who purchases a Belling range cooker, POS materials and a media package to help promote the event and increase footfall in store. A member of the Belling sales team will also be on hand during the event to support retail staff.

The original Cookcenter was launched following the success of the Belling Farmhouse – which was credited with kick-starting the mass market range sector as a viable alternative to traditional heat storage stoves and cookers. The Cookcenter was a 100cm cooker available in green, champagne and the newly popular stainless steel.

Belling reinvented the Cookcentre in 2016, following significant investment in the UK manufacturing facility. The current Cookcentre collection is made from a single piece, tempered steel frame, includes three size options – 90, 100 and 110cm – all available in a choice of dual fuel, ceramic, gas or induction and is available in silver, black and professional stainless steel. The collection also includes induction models with up to five Link+ zones and digital touch controls.

Belling’s parent company Glen Dimplex Home Appliances range cooking head of category Steve Dickson said: “The Cookcentre is one of the most important product ranges in Belling’s history – its role, alongside the Farmhouse, in establishing range cookers as mass-market products cannot be overlooked. The modern day collection offers a lot more technology and features than its predecessor but we think it is important to mark such a milestone birthday.

“This retailer competition is designed to not only celebrate the Cookcentre’s 21st but to support one lucky retailer by providing in-store incentives and helping them to attract more customers.”

To enter the competition retailers simply need to visit https://www.belling.co.uk/belling-cookcentre-21st-birthday and fill out the entry form before October 7, 2018. The winning retailer selected at random will then be informed. Retailers must have a minimum of three Belling range cookers on display and the party must take place before December 16, 2018. Full Ts&Cs can be found on the entry page.
