There’s no doubt that 2009 and beyond will be extremely tough, however Armour is in a particularly strong position to weather the storm ahead and to help our customers do likewise.
Armour Home finished the financial year with sales ahead of the previous year, despite the market downturn. Investments made in the business over the last three years have buffeted us against a poor UK market and, to a lesser extent, even weaker markets overseas.
We remain committed to offering higher value products that provide dealers a genuine opportunity to earn a respectable margin.
Armour continues to invest heavily in new product development via our two research and development teams and our strategic partners. Our breadth of investment, for example, in both custom installation and consumer products enables us to supply a variety of channels.
We’re leveraging our investment in training, by improving and extending our two showroom/training centres in the south and north of England. In 2009, we also plan to launch Cedia type ‘Boot camps’ – a bit like home cinema apprenticeships.
Look out for new distribution brands, new QED cables and new Modular Multiroom products. Following the Q Acoustics ‘Q-AV’ ‘hidden in plain sight’ speaker system, we will launch a mass market product, the ‘Q-TV’ system which will cause quite a stir and we expect to announce a technology tie-up with a major high street retailer.
