Apple has carried out a complete overhaul of its iPod range, including the introduction of the iPod touch, which uses a similar touch screen interface to the iPhone and includes Wi-Fi wireless networking.
The first iPod to include Wi-Fi capability, the iPod Touch is equipped with a 3.5in widescreen and is available as an 8GB model or a 16GB version.
Apple also unveiled the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, which enables users to purchase and download music over a Wi-Fi network directly onto their iPod Touch or iPhone.
The manufacturer has also introduced an all-new iPod nano, which features a different shape to the previous model, along with a larger screen which is 65% brighter than the previous generation. As well as playing music, the nano is now capable of supporting video playback. The 4GB version comes in silver, while the 8GB player is available in silver, black, blue, green and a red special edition.
Apple has also breathed new life into original player, now rebranded as the iPod Classic and expanded its memory capability. It is now available as a 80 or 160GB model and features a thinner design along with a sturdy all-metal enclosure. Both models come in black or silver.
