Designer cooker hoods brand AIRUNO has unveiled a new downdraft extractor in response to increasing consumer demand for discreet kitchen products.
The Zaira Downdraft Extractor combines a quiet operating volume of just 43-69dB with a powerful maximum extraction rate of 748m3/h. It also boasts an ‘A’ energy rating and is available in either 90 or 120cm models.
Combining functionality with an elegant, sleek aesthetic, the Zaira is available in either black glass or stainless steel and boasts a full-length LED strip light for optimal lighting of the cooking area. Its top plate can also be customised to match the surrounding work surface,
The Zaira comes with a remote control which can be used to retract the appliance back into the countertop when not in use and to alter its four speed settings. Its innovative anti-crush system prevents waste from being trapped, while a collection channel prevents spillages.
Remote and external motors are also available.
AIRUNO Chairman Geoff Baker said: “We expect downdraft extractors to be among the most popular and sought-after kitchen appliances for years to come, thanks to the ongoing popularity of open-plan living designs which are boosting demand for discreet kitchen products like the Zaira.
“The Zaira’s ability to retract when not in use makes it an excellent addition to the cooker hood market and is another feature which is sure to appeal to consumers and designers who want unobtrusive, high-quality kitchen appliances.”
