Named after the first satellite launched into the earth’s orbit, the new microwave oven from Fagor is designed in homage to the 20th century space-age. However, its technologies are firmly placed in the 21st century, with a digital LCD display, illuminated turntable and simple functionality.
Featuring an innovative domed design and spacious interior, the oven can accommodate a wide range of dishes.
The correct cooking mode is selected from four separate options: high temperature, low temperature, reheat and defrost. The Spoutnik is available in blue, green and violet.
The internal cooking area, accessible through the spherical lid, is much easier to clean than in traditional microwaves and provides a 360º view of what’s cooking inside. The 28cm turntable illuminates when cooking begins; changing from blue, while the dish is cooking, to red when the dish is ready.
Richard Walker, sales and marketing director of FagorUK, commented to IER on the launch of Spoutnik: “In its domestic marketplace and throughoutEurope, the Fagor brand is renowned for manufacturing both large and small domestic appliances and is highly successful across both sectors. The UK SDA market is very competitive, so we wanted to enter the sector with a product that has a real point of difference.”
